In June, close to twenty Alliance members held a closed working session at the European Parliament, bringing together MEPs Christophe Clergeau (S&D, France), Marcos Ros Sempere (S&D, Spain), Marta Temido (S&D, Portugal) and Tomislav Sokol (EPP, Croatia) with scientists and representatives of the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Aéma Groupe, International Diabetes Federation Europe (IDF), Inserm, EuroHealthNet and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres.
Prof. Denis Sarigiannis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and Prof. Jana Klánová (Masaryk University) presented draft plans for the Mission Exposome and the Common Prevention Pillar, two of the Alliance’s three flagship asks for the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework and the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
